The New Testament from Balgrad
It happened on January 20, 1648 - One of the most important Romanian prints - The New Testament from Balgrad, the name under which was known at that time Alba Iulia, the first full translation in Romanian of this sacred book, appears. Some sources mention January 21 as the date of the appearance ... The New Testament of Balgrad from 1648 is considered a reference work for subsequent translations of the Holy Scripture, such as the "Bible in Bucharest" of 1688, the "Blaj Bible" of 1795, "The Bible in Buzau "From 1854-1856," The Bible of Shaguna "in 1856.
